It's time to reimagine the academic experience ~
Every year, top universities around the world blind review each other’s programs on how innovative, implementable and impactful they are. These scores are aggregated to form the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) global top 100.
This final list reveals universities that are trailblazing in how they contribute to society, highlighting creative approaches across the six categories of Industrial Application, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Ethical Value, Student Mobility and Openness, Crisis Management, and Fourth Industrial Revolution.
There’s a lot to learn from them.
Cue: Learn Well.
A Journalism project documenting the future of teaching & learning.
Honest
We’re going straight to the source: travelling to these top schools to hear unfiltered, first-hand experiences. We’re trying to get as 360⁰ a view as possible, taking care to get diverse perspectives through the questions we ask & people we talk to.
Accessible
How often do you read academic journals for fun? We get it, most research projects are behind a paywall, with stuffy academic writing. Not Learn Well. This project lives here on this website, for anyone to read, in plain language.
Purposeful
Backed by a $12,500 scholarship, we’re aiming to revolutionize education. We’re doing this by telling the stories of these top programs, and thereby exploring what strategies work and what don’t.
The Project
Phase One:Between September 2023 - March 2024, we’ll visit each of the top 10 most innovative programs in the world.
Phase Two: Between February 2025- April 2025 we’ll share insights from class lectures, interviews & school tours about what it’s really like to teach & learn in them.

Meet your host
Hey, I’m Rachel.
I’m Learn Well’s lead researcher, and the journalist behind any of the pieces you read on this site. I strongly believe in the transformative power of education and took on this project because I know we can do better within our school system.
